With its powdery white sand, turquoise waters, and lush surroundings, Half Moon Bay is an ideal spot for a relaxing beach vacation.
Half Moon Bay features powdery white sand that is soft to the touch and perfect for lounging or sunbathing. The beach itself is quite expansive, providing plenty of space for visitors to find their own little slice of paradise. The clear blue waters are relatively calm, making it ideal for swimming and wading.
There are some rocky areas near the edges of the bay which are great for snorkeling as they attract marine life such as colorful fish and sea turtles. Coral reefs can also be found just offshore, offering even more opportunities for snorkelers and divers to explore.
The calm waters at Half Moon Bay make it an excellent place for swimming, snorkeling, and paddleboarding. Snorkeling is particularly popular here due to the abundance of marine life that can be found near the rocky edges of the bay and in the coral reefs offshore.
For those looking to relax onshore, sunbathing on the soft white sand or taking leisurely beach walks are popular activities. Additionally, with consistent trade winds hitting this part of Antigua's coast, Half Moon Bay provides fantastic conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing enthusiasts.
Half Moon Bay currently does not have any major hotels or resorts directly on its beachfront. However, there are plans underway to develop a luxury resort in the area called "Rosewood Half Moon Bay" which will offer guests unrivaled access to this pristine beach.
In the meantime, there are several nearby accommodations such as Nonsuch Bay Resort, Harmony Hall Antigua, and Pineapple Beach Club, all within a short drive of Half Moon Bay.
There are a few areas near Half Moon Bay where visitors can choose to stay. The closest is Freetown Village, a small community just a short drive from the beach. Staying in this area will provide you with easy access to Half Moon Bay as well as other nearby beaches such as Long Bay and Green Island.
Another option is to stay in the larger town of Willikies, which is slightly further away but offers more amenities and dining options. From Willikies, you can easily explore other attractions on the island like Devil's Bridge and Betty's Hope Sugar Plantation.
Half Moon Bay offers some basic amenities for visitors' convenience. There is a small parking lot near the entrance of the beach for those arriving by car. Additionally, there are a few beach bars where visitors can grab snacks and drinks during their day at the beach.
