If you are sailing, windsurfing, fishing, surfing etc. in Diamond Beach don't forget to check the tide and wind and wave conditions
Diamond Beach has one of the most famous views in the Bali area. This secluded gem is nestled on the eastern side of the island, offering breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere that encapsulates the essence of tropical paradise. The journey to reach Diamond Beach adds to its allure, as it is less crowded and more untouched than some of Bali's other popular beaches.
You will find a parking fee of 5000 IDR (only $0.30) and an entrance fee of 35,000 IDR ($2.25). Unfortunately they include a very small bottle of water with every entrance ticket, and many of these can be seen littering the trail down to the beach. I recommend only attempting the descent to the beach if you are very physically fit and with proper footwear (not sandals) as some of the trail down includes hanging from a rope as you edge down the rock face. It's definitely not for everybody, should the descent look too much you can still enjoy the incredible views from the cliffs. The adjacent Atuh cliff faces the sunrise, should you go early enough to catch it. From Atuh cliff you can also walk down the steps to the neighboring Atuh beach which has numerous snack bars and vendors.
Diamond Beach is renowned for its stunning white sand which is fine and soft to the touch. The contrast between the sparkling sand and the clear turquoise waters creates a picturesque setting that is perfect for relaxation and photography. While the beachfront is inviting for sunbathing and beachcombing, it's important to note that the waters can be rough with strong currents making swimming unwise.
While there are no resorts directly on Diamond Beach due to its unspoiled nature, there are several accommodation options nearby on Nusa Penida where visitors can stay:
These establishments offer comfortable lodging options ranging from budget-friendly bungalows to more luxurious suites.
Staying in areas like West Nusa Penida or along the northern coast offers easy access to both Diamond Beach as well as other attractions on the island. These areas have a variety of accommodations suited for different budgets while still providing convenience in terms of travel around Nusa Penida.
Diamond Beach is relatively unspoiled; hence amenities are minimalistic but generally include:
For most services like restrooms or showers, visitors may need to rely on their accommodations or visit more developed beaches nearby. It's advisable always to bring essential items such as water, sunscreen, snacks, and beach towels when visiting Diamond Beach.
